How To Achieve Anything You Want In Life – Without Fail!

The secret to achieving what you want in life… is setting goals. Well that’s a great starting point! In fact the big secret to getting what you want in life, is achieving your goals! So let’s get back to the main point of this post…

How to achieve whatever it is you want in life…

Achieving what you want in life isn’t as difficult as you might think! In fact, if you take these simple steps, you’ll be well on the way to success!

Step 1 – Identify exactly what you want in life
Don’t concern yourself about the how or when… you can do that later. At this point just decide what you want. Be specific. Be bold. Don’t limit yourself to what others think you should have… go for everything you want… everything!

And make a list! Writing things down creates links in your mind that give substance to your thoughts… making your goals real clarity.

Step 2 – Set yourself a date for when you want to achieve your goals
Be realistic, but challenging. Write down the dates and put them in your diary too! This is important… a goal without a date is simply a dream. And, whilst there’s a place for dreams in life… this certainly isn’t it!

Step 3 – Look at your current situation
And identify how close you are to your goals right now. This is important… you may be closer than you think! Write down the things you’ve tried already. Can you modify these actions to achieve your success or do you need to try something different?

All too often, people start from scratch when trying to achieve their goals and waste any progress already made. Take time to assess your current situation… it will save you time in the long-run!

Step 4 – Decide what actions you need to take
Write down all the possible actions you could take to move you closer to achieving your goals. Write down everything! Don’t concern yourself with whether they’ll work at this stage… simply write down as many ideas as you can.

At this stage, you’re simply coming up with new ideas. By listing everything you’ll find some new angles to approach your goals… which will lead to a high success rate!

Once you feel you’ve written down everything… write down 5 more ideas… then 5 more!

Step 5 – Decide which actions you’re going to take
Choose the action(s) from your list that you think will bring you the most success and decide when you’re going to start! Make a note in your diary and ensure you take action each day to take you forward.

Don’t waste any time. Don’t say you’ll start next week… start today!

Step 6 – Look at your goals regularly
Reassess your actions and goals regularly… every week is best, but at least every two or three weeks.

You can do this on your own… or with a friend… or better still with a coach, who’ll be able to keep you on track as well as motivating you to reach your goals in double quick time.

Make Today a Great Day!

The Secrets To Becoming Highly Successful In Life

The aim of this article is to provide an outline of the attributes you require to become incredibly successful, so you can decide how you need to improve to increase your levels of success. Each attribute will be dealt with in depth in future articles and e-Books, but this is a great starting point if you truly want to become hugely successful.

The first thing I want to say here, is that I’m talking about being successful in all areas of your life. This article’s not just about being successful in work or business, it’s also about being successful in your relationships, all aspects of your home life, your hobbies and interests, your health and fitness… in fact just about anything you want to be successful in!

So, as you read through this article, simply apply the thoughts and ideas to the area(s) of your life in which you want to achieve success… or more success!

OK, let’s get started – have you ever known me to hang around – of course not! And I’m not going to disappoint today, either!

This may shock you… or it might not… but there is no secret to success! What? I can hear the cries from far and wide! Don’t believe me? That’s probably because so many gurus, coaches and so-called experts have created this great mystery behind success… usually down to their own self-interest! Create a mystery… create a problem… then cerate a solution… and charge people for it! Look, we all need to earn a living, but why the mystery? Let’s just be honest with each other and help each other and this world of ours will be a much better and happier place to be!

OK, you want a secret? This is it…

You can achieve success in any area of your life… as long as you have the desire to do so and as long as you’re prepared to learn a few new things along the way. Add to that the ability to set goals, a touch of confidence and success is yours for the taking! Weh-hey!

Oops, I’ve let the cat out of the bag… it’s not a secret anymore! Aargh! OK, if it’s not a secret, you’re probably wondering why some people are so successful and others are failures! Your words… not mine! Actually, there’s no such thing as a failure… just a lesson learned. Ask Thomas Edison (inventor of the electric light bulb). Well, OK, so you can’t ask him now… he’s no longer with us… but his quote is so famous and makes my point well! He was asked how he carried on with his research when his experiments failed so many times. And his answer?

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”.

Now, you can be picky about the 10,000 times, but the point’s made perfectly! Each time Edison “failed”, he just learned something that didn’t work. He didn’t see it as failure, he simply took another step towards his eventual success! How cool is that? So, what can you take from that? Have you just learned something? Can you take a leaf out of Edison’s book and start learning today? Sure you can! And in doing so, you’ll be well on the way to becoming successful yourself!

OK, so let’s get back on track and explore what it is that makes some people successful… whilst others fail miserably! Aargh! There I go again, talking about failure! Now this is important! If you accept failure as failure, then of course, you can fail. It’s only by treating “failure” as a lesson learned that you all of a sudden cannot fail! Does that make sense? I hope so, because it does to me! Lol!

Attitude
If I had to pick out one thing that makes some people successful and others failures, it would be attitude. People who achieve outstanding success approach things in a totally different way to those who are unsuccessful. Their attitude is one of “never say die” and they also expect to succeed. Failure doesn’t even enter their mind for a split second. All they see is the finishing line… and breaking the tape! Creating a winning mindset is so important to becoming hugely successful.

Just do it!
You won’t see too many successful people wondering what to do next, either! They have an attitude of getting on with things, rather than talking about what to do next. They won’t be pondering about what will happen when they try things, they simply get on and do it! They’ll try things out. Learn from the results and then move on to the next step. They’ll keep doing that until they’ve reached their goal. Problems will be resolved. Obstacles removed or hurdled. Nothing gets in their way. Nothing!

The big question now is, “How do you become hugely successful?”

Now there’s a tough one! But, since we’re working on becoming an incredible success, I’m sure we can get past it! Oh yeah!

OK, here’s a list of attributes I think you’ll need if you’re going to become a huge success in life. Take a look and see if you agree with me. As you read through the list, tick off those that apply to you already and highlight those where you think you need a bit of work to improve. If you can think of any more that you think should be added, please contact me and let me know! You see, I’m willing to learn. I’m learning all the time!

OK, You’ll need to have:

  • a vivid long-term vision of where you want to get to in life
  • set high, but achievable goals
  • a desire to be or achieve the best – 2nd best just isn’t an option
  • a belief in yourself and that you control your own destiny
  • a high level of drive and energy
  • strength of purpose
  • motivation
  • the ability and willingness to learn from your mistakes
  • a clear way of measuring your success
  • a willingness to celebrate your successes – Oh yeah!
  • the ability to work on your own and make your own decisions
  • the ability to work with and learn from others
  • great self-confidence
  • a willingness to take some risks
  • a desire to achieve excellence!

Now, that’s quite a list, isn’t it? If you have all those qualities in abundance, you have no real need to read this article! However, my guess is that you probably have some of them, but in varying degrees of abundance! What that means, is you’re probably getting some successes in your life, but with a little bit of work on yourself, you could achieve so much more! So, if you want to achieve incredible success, read on and we’ll take a look at how to start work on the things you need to improve.

Create A Vision Of Your Perfect Life
This is crucial to your success! How can you achieve something, if you don’t have a clear picture of it in your mind? Think of it this way. If you had a bow and arrow in your hands and a target somewhere in the distance and you were then blindfolded and spun around a few times, what would be the chances of you hitting the target? Pretty slim, I’d say! Take your blindfold off, pick out the target… aim… fire… bullseye! OK, so you may need to learn some lessons before you hit the bullseye, but don’t forget, that’s what successful people do all the time… so get some lessons booked!

Set High But Achievable Goals
I strongly suggest you do this with the help of a good coach. A good coach will help you set goals appropriate to your skills, goals which are challenging, but achievable. It’s important not to limit yourself by setting easy goals, but it’s equally important not to set goals that are out of your reach, because you’ll soon become disillusioned and will then give up on your dreams.

Look, if I was to set myself the target of running 100 metres in 5 seconds, I’d be setting myself up for a fall. If I was to set myself a target of running 100 metres in 20 seconds, it would be way too easy… even for me! The secret is to come to a target that challenges and pushes your limits, but gives you hope of success. That’s where a good coach will help, by asking pertinent questions to enable you to set the right goals for you. If we continue with the analogy above, 20 seconds may not be a challenging goal for me, but for others it would be just right and for some it would be downright impossible!

A Desire To Be Or Achieve The Best
Look, we all know that everyone can’t be the best! The idea here is to achieve the best you possibly can! That makes you a winner. That makes you an incredible success! If you have the desire to achieve incredible success in everything you do, then that’s exactly what you’ll achieve! Second best just isn’t even an option, because, if you do fall below your high expectations, you’ll learn and improve… and keep improving until you’ve reached your goal!

Look you’re not aiming for perfection here, but you’re aiming for pretty damn close to perfection! As a golfer, you’re never going to get a hole in one on every par 3 hole you play. You’re probably not going to land within 5 metres of the hole every time, but you can set yourself a target of hitting the green just about every time. Now, we all know that every so often you’ll miss the green, but by setting the goal high, you’ll hit it more often. Each time you miss, you learn a lesson, so you can do better next time.

Believe In Yourself
One things for sure, if you don’t believe in yourself, nobody else will! I’m not talking about being boastful or arrogant here, just being confident in your own ability to “get the job done”. If you go around telling others how great you are, you’ll lose a lot of friends and make even more enemies! So don’t go there! Listen, just because you shouldn’t go around boasting about you talents to others, it doesn’t mean you can’t tell yourself exactly how wonderful you are! Don’t go over the top though, well not too much, just keep it at a level that builds you up so you know you’ll be successful.

Certainly, it’s extremely important not to be critical of yourself. That’s just a recipe for disaster and will almost certainly lead to failure. Nothing more needs to be said on that… do not put yourself down… ever!

You Control Your Own Destiny
OK, I’m going to offer my apologies to anyone whose religious beliefs suggest that life’s all mapped out for us and that we simply have to tune into “God” and He’ll lead the way. I’m sorry, I just don’t see life like that! I do believe in a greater power, a creator if you like. We can call this creator, “God”, “The Universe”, maybe. It doesn’t really matter.

Everything and everyone is linked by a force, which is why The Law of Attraction works so well. But, we control how The Universe works for us by our thoughts and actions, not the other way round. Why would we need free minds, if our future was mapped out already? You better believe you control your own destiny or someone else will do it for you! And that would not lead to incredible success!

A High Level Of Drive And Energy
If you have a clear vision and have set yourself challenging goals, this will come naturally. You’ll leap out of bed raring to go each and every day! Well maybe, but I reckon there are other things that need to be worked on here. Sure, your drive will be improved with a clear vision and challenging goals and to a certain extent this will energize you. However, you’ll also need to work on the physical side of things. A good dose of exercise, relaxation, sleep and a healthy diet are all essential here! In short then, look after both body and mind if you want to Achieve Incredible Success!

Strength Of Purpose and Motivation
When you’re creating your vision and setting your goals, it’s vital they fall within your beliefs and values. This is vital to becoming successful. If you set goals that fall outside your core values, then you’ll lack the motivation to see them through.

Let’s say one of your core values centres around your family and doing lots of fun things with your kids. If you then set yourself a goal that takes you away from home for 4 days each week for the next three years, then that goal’s in conflict with your core values, meaning you will create inner conflicts as you strive to achieve success. It’s almost inevitable that you’ll fail to reach you goal in this sort of situation.

The Ability And Willingness To Learn From Your Mistakes
OK, this is easy. You make a mistake – we all do that from time to time – you learn from it, try again and hey presto you get it right! Yeah, right! Look, that may happen once in a while, but generally life isn’t quite that simple! So you’re going to need to be prepared to try things a few times before you get it spot on, and each time you make a mistake, you’re going to have to analyse what you did and improve on it next time. You’ll need real stickability and you’ll need to be able to learn new skills as you go along.

To be honest, that’s no problem… learning is so much fun! Especially when it takes you nearer to achieving your goals!

A Clear Way Of Measuring Your Success
This sounds easy… and to be honest it is! Provided you set the right goals! OK, here’s the deal. Each time you set a goal, you ask yourself this simple question, “How will I know when I’ve achieved my goal?” At work, that may be when you’re made a Director of your company. At home, it may be when you’ve finished building an extension on your house.

The next question’s maybe a little more difficult to answer. “How will I know if I’ve been hugely successful?” OK, this is s bit more subjective. At home, you may decide that your extension needs four walls and a roof that doesn’t leak to make it a successful achievement! OK? Does that make sense? To create incredible success, you’re going to have to achieve your goals with style and flair!

A Willingness To Celebrate Your Successes – Oh Yeah!
This one’s so much fun! Every success has to be marked with a celebration or reward. It may be a simple reward like a bar of your favourite chocolate or even something like a cup of coffee. But for major successes you’ll need to think of a special celebration! Maybe a meal out in the best restaurant in town, or tickets to a show… your choice! But, whatever you do, celebrate every success, no matter how small… and celebrate in style!

The Ability To Work On Your Own And Make Your Own Decisions
If you’re going to become a hugely successful person, you’ll have to make decisions and you’ll have to make them, sometimes, on your own. You see sometimes, others will disagree with you, they’ll advise you one way or the other and sometimes you’ll have moral dilemmas or maybe even social issues to consider. But, what you have to consider, is that the decision ultimately has to be made by you, for you! So make it! Then live with it!

You’re also going to need leadership qualities, which will mean working on your own at times. Doing what you think is best. Doing what you want to do. Doing whatever it takes to move yourself forward in the direction of your goals. Look, you’re pulling the shots… it’s your life. So you’re going to have to take control, make decisions and get out there and do it when you don’t always feel like doing it!

The Ability To Work With And Learn From Others
The one thing about becoming incredibly successful that many people learn the hard way, is that you cannot do it on your own! Every hugely successful person has had support, help, advice, coaching and much more from others as they’ve strived for excellence. And each and everyone of them will acknowledge that they couldn’t have achieved their success without the help of others.

So, learn to work with other people. Listen to their advice… you don’t have to take it… but listen to it… consider it… then either take it or discard it. Find people who have qualities and skills that you need. Learn from them… and teach them your skills and qualities. You must give as well as receive.

Find a guru, coach, a mastermind group, a support group, anything or anyone that’ll support you. Find people who are like-minded, people who want you to succeed. Network with them, build contacts, support each other. Give and you will receive. Receive and you will give.

Be open to ideas from others. Consider them. Modify them. Use them. Give ideas to others. As you do that, your subconscious mind will create other ideas for you to use. Everybody will gain.

Great Self-Confidence
I could write a book on this one… well actually I have… well almost! I’m adding the final touches right now… so look out for it very soon! Look, this is a huge area and one that needs a lot of discussion. But for now simply work on building confidence by celebrating every success. As you do that, you’ll realise you can do things well, very well and that will build your confidence.

You’ll also find some articles on this site to help you build your confidence… just click on the confidence link on the left of each page. I’ll be adding lots more soon. The thing to remember here, is that without confidence, you’ll limit your success levels drastically. So, if it’s a problem with you, find a way to boost it as fast as you can.

A Willingness To Take Some Risks
Now, this may sound like a contradiction, but believe me, this is one of the most important things you’ll have to learn to do! You can achieve limited success by taking the easy route, by making the easy decisions, by plodding along. But, if you want incredible success, you’ll have to take some risks… calculated risks of course. Some of them will come off, others will fail, sometimes miserably. But you’ll learn when they fail and you’ll grow so much faster when they come off!

With all risks, calculate the possible return if they succeed and the downside if they fail. Then visualize and focus on success! Easy!

A Desire To Achieve Excellence!
Now this may sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many people are scared of success. You see, the more success you have, the more people will expect you to succeed. And that brings pressure. Or at least it can bring pressure.

Just remember, you’re doing this for you. Not for anyone else… for you. So their thoughts and expectations are irrelevant! Your thoughts and expectations are the only ones that count. Whether others perceive you as a success or a failure doesn’t matter in the slightest! There you go… pressure relieved!

OK, to finish off then… aim for excellence in all you do. Do the best you possibly can. Always want to be the best. Always want to do your best. Aim for the stars, always. Look, if you aim high and don’t quite make it, you’ll still have achieved incredible success! And that’s what you’re aiming for… isn’t it?

20 Questions That WILL Change Your Life!

Why am I so confident these 20 questions will change your life?

Because that’s what they’re designed to do! OK, so I may be a bit cocky here, but confidence is my middle name! Hey, I’m a Life Improvement Coach, if I’m not confident who on this lovely planet of ours can be?

OK, frivolity out of the way… for now, anyway… let’s get to business.

First things first… if you’re reading this article, there’s probably something in your life you want to change… something in your life that’s causing you a few issues… maybe something that’s causing you some (or a great deal of) pain, anxiety, stress or just plain old concern!

Or maybe, you just feel a bit lost in life… or you feel as though life’s passing you by… or you’re just lacking a bit of direction and need some help to get back on track.

Or maybe you’ve hit a real crisis point in your life… you got up this morning and thought, “What am I doing with my life? What have I achieved?” Maybe you even think your whole life has been a waste of time, effort and energy!

So, before we get onto the 20 questions that will change your life, let’s just put one or two things straight in your mind. Please… don’t skip this bit… this is vitally important and will enable you to get the most out of the questions to come.

First and foremost… life is a journey. It’s full of ups and downs, highs and lows. If you’re on a low right now, by the time you’ve done the “20 Questions” exercise, you’ll be on a high. The secret is to stay on that high for as long as you can… I’ll help you do just that! If you’re on a high right now, working with these 20 questions will take you even higher… don’t settle for the moon when you can reach for the stars!

Secondly, nothing is ever wasted in life. Everything you do, everything that has ever happened to you, is happening to you right now and will happen to you in the future is a part of you, creates the real you, helps you learn and helps you grow… everything! Whether you perceive something to be good or bad.. it’s good! It helps you grow. If you can understand that and encompass it in everything you do, your life will become so meaningful and be filled with joy and happiness.

So, in a nutshell… wherever you are right now with your life… you’re important… very important and everything that’s happened to you is important… very important. You’re a creation of The Universe, you are loved, cherished, desirable, wonderful… you’re an important piece of the jigsaw… a vital component in this wonderful machine called life. So don’t forget it!

If you want to achieve something in life, you first need to believe you are capable of achieving something in your life. I’m here to tell you… “You will achieve something in your life! Believe it… right now!”

These 20 questions will help you do just that… but please, don’t just read them and think through the answers… that’ll be a waste of your time and my effort in putting this article together! You want to waste your time? Fine! But please don’t waste mine! Lol!

Seriously, take a pen and some paper… lots of paper… and write down your answers to each question in infinite detail. The more detail you include, the better this exercise will work for you. Don’t rush it… this doesn’t have to be completed in one sitting. However, if you take a break, commit to starting again at a fixed time… put it in your diary… on your to do list… whatever you prefer. Just make sure you finish it!

Cool… now get yourself a nice cup of coffee, relax, find somewhere comfortable to sit and empty your mind for at least 10 minutes. Just close your eyes and take yourself to your favourite place… the countryside… your garden… the sea… wherever you like being. Just relax and let your senses do the rest…

What can you see?

What sounds can you hear?

Smell the air…

Feel the sensations…

Taste the atmosphere…

Relaxed? Emptied your mind?

Cool… time to start changing your life…

1. If money wasn’t an issue, what one thing would you definitely do right now?

Be bold… be adventurous… go for something big, really big! Look, money’s no issue, so don’t hold yourself back. Dream… fantasise… go where you’ve never been before… let your mind take control… let your imagination run wild!

Write down anything that comes to your mind… don’t limit yourself, initially, to just one thing, write a list… then go back to your list and pick the one thing you really, really want to do in your life.

2. If you couldn’t fail, what one thing would you try right now?

OK, on the face of it, this is similar to the first question, but there’s a subtle difference. You may just have held yourself back with the last question, because you were concentrating on finance rather than success. This question should take you to even greater heightsthough don’t worry if your answer to this one’s the same as question 1… that just means you’re already opening your mind to create incredible success in your life. Wow!

As before… don’t hold back… go for something out of this world… think humungus!

3. If you could change one thing in your life, right now, what would it be?

No boundaries! No holding back! You’re doing this exercise for you… nobody’s going to see what you write (unless you decide to show them, of course!), so you can write what you really feel.

Again, write a list to start you off, if you’re not sure which one thing you really want to change, and then select your number one thing to change from your list.

4. Which aspects of your life need to be improved?

Look, you may need to go buy a new notebook for this one… I did! Lol!

Take your time… write your list… take a short 5 minute break… than go back to your list… leave some space… go back to your list every day for the next week… or every time your sub-conscious comes up with some more ideas and pushes them into the front of your mind!

Be ruthless! Perfection can’t be achieved… sorry, but it can’t and I make no apologies for using that dreaded word, ‘can’t'! You can achieve incredible things with your life, we all can… but perfection? Nah! By all means aim to be as perfect as you can… and you can get pretty damn close… but don’t expect perfection.

So, if something’s not quite perfect… you can still add it to your list! Look, this isn’t meant to depress you… this list will act as a catalyst for improving things that aren’t quite working for you as you’d like them to. So be happy… you’re going to improve so many different areas of your life in the weeks to come!

5. If you had to choose one thing to work on that would make the biggest difference in your life, what would it be?

Now this is a toughy! Again, write a list, if you want and select your #1 thing from your list.

If you’re totally stuck, think about relationships, attitudes, finances, health and fitness, beliefs… Yes! Concentrate on beliefs… these are the things that hold just about everyone back in life! What beliefs are holding you back? How could you change those beliefs to help you move forward in life? Got the idea? Cool!

6. For each thing you’ve written down so far, what one thing could you do right now to get closer to making them happen? Write them down?

Notice the shift in direction, here? You’re now concentrating on actions you can take to make the changes you’ve been thinking about become reality! This is very powerful and will need some thought… this is goal setting at it’s best!

Make each action achievable… you’re taking the first steps here, so look at something you can do to move you closer to making things happen… not necessarily something that’ll take you all the way!

7. What do you want less of in your life?

Total honesty required here. It’s so easy to accept things that are ‘OK’ and just get on with it! Sorry, that won’t do today! Don’t spend too much time here though, this one’s a bit like a spring clean… you’re just throwing out the stuff you don’t need any more… like stress… traffic… sprouts!

8. What do you want more of in your life?

Go for a list of at least 50! Even better… go for 100! Nothing’s too trivial… and nothing’s too big either! Open your heart… open your mind… open the floodgates!

Made 100 yet? Cool… then you can move on to question 9!

9. What are your passions in life? What do you love doing? What gets you excited?

Now we’re talking! What causes the hair on your back to stand on end? What causes your spine to tingle? What makes you jump out of bed in the morning? Or into bed at night!

Once you’ve found where your real passions lie, you can really start to move forward with your life. My passion’s helping people, personal development, if you like. So writing this article has been pure joy! So look for things that put a smile on your face… things that you could do day after day… after day… after day… I think you know what I mean!

10. What do you hate doing in life? What gets you down? What’s boring?

Sorry, but this is important. Once you have your list, you’re going to use it to avoid these things with all the determination you can muster! List everything… then later on you can put in place some actions to make sure these things are well and truly thrown out of your life!

Well done! You’re half way there… hope you’re having some fun doing this exercise! You’re meant to!

Look, I know some of these questions are pretty tough, but enjoy the process… it’s going to help you make dramatic and positive changes in your life! So be happy… just think how much better your life’s becoming… right now!

11. Which person do you most respect in life? Why?

Tricky question, this! You can write a list if you have more than one. But you must write the reasons you respect each one of them. How many of their traits do you have? How can you become more like them? Once you have a #1, go out and buy any books about that person you can get your hands on. If they’ve written books, buy them as well! Learn about them… model them!

Look, if you have more than one person on your list, buy books about all of them… but not all at once! Buy a book, read it… then go onto the next… repeat!

12. Which person do you least respect in life? Why?

This is actually, probably more difficult to answer than the previous question… but this time, once you have your list, I’m not going to ask you to buy their books! Simply take a look at yourself… if you have any of their traits, find a way to get rid of them! After all, you don’t want the traits of someone you have no respect for… do you?

13. Do you have any of the characteristics of either of the people you mentioned above?

OK, so you’ve already answered this question! You have, haven’t you? Just a reminder to make sure you’re answering these questions properly and not skimming through them! Lol!

14. What would your perfect life look like? Take out a clean sheet of paper and write it down… take exactly three minutes. Do the same for the next six days and then compare what you wrote down each day. Combine all seven sheets and you should have a blueprint for your perfect life.

I so love this question!!! To be honest, this question is a coaching exercise in itself. It will lead to lasting and dramatic changes in your life… so follow it through for the rest of the week!

The three minute bit is so important too… so make sure you stick to it. It’s long enough to give you chance to write down the most important things, but short enough to make sure your thoughts come from your heart!

You don’t have time to analyse, so get going and write furiously if you want to get everything down! And don’t forget… you need to do this for the next 6 days as well!

15. What one thing can you do this week to take you closer to your perfect life? When are you going to do it?

Listen, there’s no point doing all this thinking if it doesn’t lead to you taking some action… and immediate action at that! You’ve started the ball rolling by doing this exercise, no keep the momentum going!

Think what you can do… write it down… with a date and time. Commit to it. this is an immovable object… it cannot be changed, postponed or cancelled… under any circumstances! It doesn’t have to be big… but it must move you towards your ideal life.

After you’ve successfully completed it… repeat the process… again… and again… and again…

16. What things, people or beliefs are holding you back in life? What can you do to get past these things, people or beliefs?

Now this is s real biggy! We’re all held back by beliefs, often picked up subconsciously and often in our childhood, that limit our potential. Parents, family, friends, teachers, media… the list is endless… all have an impact on our lives. Often, they influence us in positive ways, but they also have a negative impact on us as well. Even though people have a our best interests at heart, they often create limiting beliefs within us by things they say or do.

How often do you see parents ‘wrap their children in cotton wool’? Sometimes, this can prevent children from becoming adventurous… all the way through to the time they take out their pension!

You’ll need to shake off these limiting beliefs… and forgive those that created them within you… totally and unconditionally… just forgive them… right now… no limits… no ties… forgiven… forever… right now!

17. Which aspects of your life are you happiest with? How could you make them even better?

OK, time to put a smile back on your face! List everything… absolutely everything… that makes you happy… puts a smile on your face… makes you get out of bed in the morning! Or jump back in… oops, sorry! Already been there! Lol!

Now, when you have your list… write down one thing for each of them that’ll make them even better. You now have a few more actions to put in your diary or to do list! Yeehaa!

18. If your friends, family and work colleagues were to wrote down a description of your personal qualities, what would they write? Would you be happy with that?

Hey, I’m feeling pretty tired, just writing out these questions, so you must be exhausted! Because you’re working twice as hard as me.. at least you should be!

OK, make sure your list includes a wide cross section of people… and don’t just pick your favourite work colleagues or family members. Pick a few you don’t get on with quite so well… and be honest in what you think they’ll say!

If you’re really brave… actually ask some of them to do it for you… and comapare their actual comments with your thoughts! But don’t be surprised if they’re different!

19. What are your strongest qualities? How can you make them even stronger?

No holding back here! List them all and go over the top too! Look, it’s not being boastful or arrogant… if you go around telling everyone else how good you are at everything, that’s a different matter… but this is for you, and you only! So you can wax lyrical about yourself… and it’s OK!

Guess what? You now have another list of actions to add to your diary or to do list! How cool is that?

20. What things do you do in your life that are not serving you or taking you nearer to what you want in life?

There will almopst certainly be plenty of them! But don’t get down as you list them out! Remember, you’re going to be taking actions to stop doing these things, so as you add each one to your list, give out a big cheer and wave them goodbye! Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio…

That’s it! Done! Well almost…

Look, I know I said 20 questions… but there’s just one more you need to answer…

21. When are you going to start working towards the life you really deserve?

You’ve started… so you need to finish!

Taking the first step is often the hardest. You’ve already done that by answering these 20… er… I mean 21 questions. You’ve stretched your emotions to the limits with some of these questions, maybe even shed a tear or two. Hopefully, you’ve also put a few smiles on your face as well.

It’s now down to you to keep the momentum going… if you need help… hire the best coach you can afford… you’re worth it!

Now… when are you going to start? Have you made a note in your diary?

Cool!

Goal Setting – Develop A Vision For Your Future

Goal Setting on its own, will bring you success…

Creating a vision for your future will bring you success…

But doing both together will bring you Incredible Success!

More on Goal Setting in a future post. But today I want to talk about creating a vision for your future…

First thing, make your vision clear, and make it exciting! Think about it! If your vision is a bit hazy, how are you going to focus on it and believe in it? Look, if you can’t focus on your vision, you have very little chance of achieving it.

Also, if your vision is dull or mundane, how are you going to motivate yourself to work towards it, day after day? The answer to that’s simple… you won’t!

So, when you create your visions for your future, make them clear, exciting and challenging!

To make you visions clear, create plans for 5 years ahead, then come back two years and create another vision, then create your vision for the end of this year. After that, work back again and create visions for 6 months away, 3 months, 1 month, 1 week and then tomorrow!

After you’ve done that start planning to make them happen.

Create your visions based on your values and achievements. OK, I know money’s important, but work towards your visions based on your values and you’ll be so motivated, it will be almost impossible to fail! Add in some outstanding achievements and you will be pulling out all the stops to fulfill your visions!

OK, to get you started, do this right now…

Step 1 – Look ahead 3-5 years and imagine your ideal future. What does it look like? What steps can you take today to begin turning your vision into your current reality?

Now work back and create your visions as described above.

Step 2 – Make a decision right now that, no matter what happens, you will remain calm and cool. You will not become upset or angry. You will take a deep breath and focus on solutions rather than on problems and you’ll see your vision through to it’s great and glorious end!

Feel inspired? Good!

Make today a great day!
