Having decided to become a Life Coach, I looked for the best
coaching company for my training. After much research, I chose The Coaching
Academy - the oldest and most established coach training company in the UK
and Europe's leading coaching organisation. The Coaching Academy is the
leading, and most respected name in executive and life coaching and has
trained 9 out of every 10 coaches in the UK, as well as helping to develop
staff for many companies around the world.

Brief Career
History
After graduating at Warwick University, I joined the
teaching profession, teaching Maths and PE in a secondary school
in Kent, where I was promoted to Acting Head of Lower School Maths after
two years.
I
then moved into computing, becoming a computer programmer with The
Wellcome Foundation, before joining ITnet (part of the Cadbury
Schweppes Group) as an Analyst Programmer.
My next move was to set up my own limited company to
become an IT Consultant, working on assignments for major blue-chip
companies such as, British Gas, Unipart, Transco and
TNT.
Prior to becoming a Life Coach, I set up a Web Design and
Internet Marketing Business, with a friend, which we sold as a going
concern after being in operation for approximately 5 years.
Experience
My varied career path has given me an invaluable insight
into careers and businesses, (especially Internet related) and people. I've
worked with people of all ages and from many different backgrounds and I've
learned a great deal about what motivates people.
Teaching and computing are worlds apart in many
ways, and the experience of changing careers has helped me to
understand many of the issues faced by people in a world where most
people will now embark on several career moves during their working
life.
As an IT Consultant I worked in companies very different
in their outlook, and gained a real insight into the workings of major
companies, since my assignments often involved discussing and solving
issues with senior management.
Through running my own business and again working
closely with other business owners, I have gained an invaluable
insight into the potential pitfalls within the business world, and
into the methods for achieving success.
Within each of my chosen careers, I've worked with many
different people, from young people at school (11yrs to 16yrs of age), to
senior managers and directors of companies. Since I consider people and
relationships to be the most important aspects of life, I feel blessed to have
worked with so many people and my passion is to help people move forward
positively with their lives and to help them achieve incredible success in all
they do.
Practicalities
Coaching sessions take place in one of two
ways:
Telephone - this is by far the most popular
method, since it removes travelling time, saving time and money. At
the end of a coaching session, a convenient time is arranged for the next
session, for the client to call the coach.
Face to face - this option is preferred by some
individuals but is mostly used for business coaching, where three or
four people may be individually coached in individual sessions throughout the
day.
Payment and fees - payment is made by cheque or credit
card (using PayPal) in advance. Sessions are normally booked in blocks of six
or more, with discounts offered for larger bookings. Since each client has
different needs, fees will be discussed during your initial meeting or
telephone call. |
